mBIOTA Founder Krystyna Houser Shares Her SIBO Journey and Innovations on the Radiate Wellness Podcast
Krystyna Houser, founder of mBIOTA Labs, recently joined the Radiate Wellness podcast to discuss her personal journey with Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) and the founding of mBIOTA Labs. Her story began shortly after the birth of her third child, when she started experiencing unexpected symptoms, including bloating, rashes, and brain fog. Initially dismissed as typical postpartum issues, Krystyna’s symptoms persisted, eventually leading to a SIBO diagnosis.
Although a diagnosis was a relief, Krystyna soon discovered that the road to recovery was anything but simple. Determined to overcome her symptoms, she embarked on an in-depth search for effective solutions, consulting with top gastroenterologists and exploring a wide range of lifestyle adjustments, medical protocols, and specialized diets. Key to her treatment was the elemental diet—a strict two-week regimen designed to help manage SIBO symptoms. However, Krystyna found the existing elemental diet products unpalatable, which led to her collaboration with doctors at Cedars-Sinai to develop mBIOTA Labs, a company dedicated to creating scientifically-backed, palatable products for individuals managing GI issues.
Beyond mBIOTA Labs, Krystyna also authored The Good LFE Cookbook, a resource offering Low-Fermentation Eating (LFE) recipes aimed at supporting gut health. On the Radiate Wellness podcast, she shared insights into the importance of effective, enjoyable solutions for those facing dietary restrictions, highlighting her commitment to transforming GI health management.
